Welcome to the John Ward School

The John Ward School is an outstanding community of learners.

Ward is an exciting environment where we truly believe in the importance of a cooperative partnership between home and school to support the learning and development of all of our students. The collaborative efforts of the Ward families and teachers have created a community where kindness, inclusivity,  high academic achievement, and commitment to excellence in all areas are expectations.

The curriculum at Ward is rich and exciting. Throughout their years at Ward, our students develop their academic as well as social skills.  As fluent readers, students will have a  strong understanding of and the ability to critically analyze what they read.  Students will learn to write clearly, competently, and with style for a variety of audiences and purposes.  In mathematics, we expect our students to become efficient and accurate problem solvers as they develop their skills in computation, analytic and visual-spatial reasoning, and critical thinking. Through their study of science and social studies students will expand their knowledge of the world; observing and thinking as they develop and test hypotheses based on real and authentic interactions with their environment. We expect our students to develop the social skills necessary to work well with others, to understand and respect human differences, and to make a positive contribution to their school and community. Most of all, we hope that students leave Ward with a true love of learning, curiosity about the world, and the skills and the desire to make a positive difference in their school, community, and in the world.

We welcome you to visit our website and hope that you find the information to be helpful.

Truly,

Becca Brogadir, Principal, & the Ward School Faculty
